The Problem

Olivia’s responsibility as Quality Manager was to make sure all products coming off the production line were baked to perfection and met (if not exceeded) the food safety standards.

The production line required a lot of oils and other fluids to make it run smoothly. As a result, there was often oil dripping or leaking onto the floor area alongside. Olivia’s team were putting down a loose absorbent to try to contain these spills but these granules were being tracked around the plant. The real risk that some would make their way into the food production line was one that needed addressing urgently.

The Solution

Olivia contacted the Hazero team. Looking at the situation, they agreed that the last thing Olivia – or anyone else for that matter – wanted was for loose absorbent to turn up in their pizza base. The team recommended that the use of loose absorbent be banned and replaced with lengths of Controlco Oil Only – Sorbent Rolls along the side of the production line.

The Outcome

The roll lengths performed a perfect dual task. Workers could move along the production line without the risk of slipping on the spilt oil and the absorbent roll kept the soles of their boots clean and free from contamination.

The clean-up process is now straightforward. No more tedious sweeping up loose absorbents around the base of the line – Olivia simply lifts out the used sections of sorbent roll and replaces them with another clean piece.
