Marine Booms – An Overview

What are Hazero Marine Booms?

Lapping up oil, while leaving water behind, is what Hazero Marine Booms do best.

Highly absorbent, these first lines of defence for waterways of all kinds, will stay afloat for extended periods even when fully saturated. That’s a massive advantage when it comes to retrieving them for safe disposal.

A clever, practical internal rope and clip system means multiple booms can be joined together to create the length needed for any marine environment rescue task.  (We recommend four booms per 10 metre).

The polypropylene packed into the tough outer mesh allows even the most viscous oil to be drawn right into the boom - rather than just coating the outside.

Hazero Marine Booms are available in two sizes: 130mm x 3m and the wider 200mm x 3m.

How much do Hazero Marine Booms absorb?

This will depend entirely on the liquid being absorbed and the viscosity of that liquid. Generally speaking, the smaller 130mm Marine Boom will absorb up to 30L per boom, and the wider 200mm Marine Boom will absorb up to 80L per boom.

How do I dispose of used Marine Booms?

This does vary from region to region around the country, with different requirements coming from regional councils, depending on what facilities they have in the area to manage and take hazardous waste and clean up material.

We recommend you call your local council or visit their website, for disposal instructions specific to your region.
